FR 01 · About
Twelve years of patient pictures.
I grew up in Partick, where I learned on a camera borrowed from my uncle and never gave back. I still work mostly on film, because it makes me slow down and look. For twelve years I have photographed people and places for magazines, charities and small brands, mostly in Scotland.
FR 02 · How I work
Slow to start, quick to deliver.
The first hour is talk. I want to know who you are, why the pictures matter and where they will be seen, before the camera comes out of the bag.
Then I photograph slowly. I look for the light first, ask people to carry on with whatever they were doing, and wait for the moment they forget I am there.
The film goes to a lab in Glasgow the same week. I edit the scans down to the frames I would put my name to, and nothing that only nearly works.
Within ten days you get a private gallery with every edited frame in full size, ready to download and share with whoever needs them.
“Noor spent an hour with our editor before she took a single picture. The story was better for it.”
