Patient pictures of people and the places that shape them.
I grew up in Partick and still live two streets from where I was born. Most of my work happens within a day’s drive of here: on ferries, in kitchens and at the edge of cold water, with people who have better things to do than have their picture taken.
I work slowly and mostly on film. The first hour is usually talking, and the pictures come once everyone has forgotten the camera. Magazines, charities and small brands hire me when they want photographs that look like the people in them.

How far ahead should I book?
Four to six weeks is usually enough, though spring and early autumn fill up sooner. A 25% deposit holds the date, and I hold it for nobody else once it is paid.

Do you travel outside Glasgow?
Yes, all over the UK and often to the islands. Travel and any overnight stay are charged at cost, and we agree them in the quote before the shoot.

Do you shoot film or digital?
Mostly 35mm and medium format film, with a digital camera alongside when a deadline is tight. Either way you get the same edited frames and the same gallery.

What if the weather turns?
Scottish weather is part of the job, and some of my favourite pictures were made in the rain. If it makes the shoot unsafe or pointless, we move the date at no cost.

How do I get my photos?
Edited frames arrive in a private online gallery within 10 days. You can download every file in full size, and the gallery stays open for a year.

Can I use the photos in print and adverts?
Every rate includes a two-year web licence. Print, advertising and longer licences are added in the quote, so tell me early where the pictures will run.
