Night Ferry

The 22:40 from Ullapool runs most nights between October and March. It takes two hours and forty minutes, and for most of that time there is nothing to see but the lights of the boat itself.

The crew let me stay on board for twelve crossings. I photographed the changeovers, the tea breaks and the quiet hour after the cars are tied down, using only the light that was already there.
