Northlight asked for a story about weather without any weather in it. We settled on the hour before: the light going green, the ferries cancelled, the farmers moving sheep off the shore.
Over four days I followed a coastguard volunteer, a ferry skipper and a forecaster at Kirkwall, and photographed the Ring of Brodgar each evening as the wind came up.
